PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

Image
To lead a happy life we all are in need of two important aspects as a whole. They are physical and mental health. There will be a possibility to lead a life with solitude only when we acquire these two aspects.  But what is physical health? Physical health is the state of our body which determines our well-being. The healthy state in which the body can do its function without any disruption. When we are physically healthy we will not have any health problems to be cured by doctors. Then what is mental health? Mental health is nothing but the state of mind which determines our attitudes and actions. This is something related to psychology. The peaceful state of mind which remains undisturbed even during tough times or at times of distress is called a healthy state of mind. Both physical and mental health are interdependent. Both must cooperate with each other to lead a peaceful life. If our mind is disturbed then it leads to depression which furthe...

Many a times, when people shout out for justice and if they are fallen in deaf ears, then there is an outbreak among the public then, mob lynching takes place.  Many cases are still existing in India as examples of mob lynching. Dhule lynching case 8. Akhlaq lynching case All the above are instances, where a group of people were punished and lynched. In many places people try to get justice in a calm and decent way initially. But when they understand that their needs cannot be restored in a calm way they tend to show mob attitude and gather uni...

Image
Child labour and trafficking generally refers to abuse (mental, physical, sexual) on children. Child abuse and trafficking is an important concern in our country. Because children in India are considered as messengers of God. And people here are using them for money and other purposes.  Types of Child labour and trafficking 1. Forced labour :- Children who are below the age of 14 are used for labour in factories, shops etc. And sometimes children are used for domestic labour. People give them money and ask them to do all the household chores. Those little hands do all the chores without any complaints, and if they complaints they are sometimes beaten or locked in a room.  2. Under aged girls are rented for sexual intercourse. Who don’t even know what is happening to them. T...

The plight of Indian Women: Victims of NRI marriages

Image
In the Indian context, marriage is considered to be a sacrosanct institution which unites two individuals and two families. In an age of increasing globalization, where a growing number of people have ties to networks of people and places across the globe, people are increasingly marrying across their national boundaries. Such kinds of marriages between two people from different countries are known as transnational marriages. Marriages with Non-Resident Indians are a class of transnational marriages. Within the time span, these kinds of marriages resulted on one side, because of the temptation of Indian brides and bridegrooms by the Overseas Indians with the hope of rejuvenating the Indian culture and traditions, whereas, on the other side, such alliances with Overseas Indians were seen as promises of better future, not for the bride/bridegroom but for her/his entire family.  Now, in modern times, there again came a shift in the concept of marriage from a sacrament bond to a contra...

PLIGHT OF WOMEN IN INDIA - WITCH BRANDING

Image
Many social problems especially against women take place in society. One among them is witch branding. Though we all talk about the importance of feminism and equality in the society, still there isn't entire freedom for women in the society. One of the social violences against women is witch branding. Women are even killed with such a name!! These happen mostly in villages where people aren't educationally developed yet. Jharkhand is the most affected state where women are commonly branded as witch crafts. They even have an act called witchcraft prevention Act. There are maximum punishments for witch branding related crimes but the problem with this is that they are yet to be implemented.  When women are being witch branded, they are brutally tormented, abused and sometimes put to death. This can even happen because of the male chauvinistic society prevalent in traditional countries like India where women cannot have the right to speak up for them...

Dowry system in India

Image
Dowry generally refers to materialistic things parents give to their daughter at the time of her marriage, which generally includes Refrigerator, Car, Almirah, cash etc. This system was started in medieval times by British when the gifts and goods were given to bride for her independence in her husband’s house. They made dowry compulsory. As of now, dowry is no longer prelavant in today’s India legally and socially, but still in some remote areas dowry is taken into consideration while marrying a girl. But now, as economic growth has taken a whole circle, economic strata of dowry has also widened.  Although seeking a dowry has been outlawed in India since 1961, the ban has been a challenge to enforce. An amendment to the law in 1986 mandated that any death or violence within the first seven years of marriage would be tried as related to dowry. The reality is that most cases of dowry violence go unreported.  Impacts on Women • Women are killed :- In some areas or houses ...

Mothers Day

Image
Mothers are the most special part of a family. They are like a pillar of the family. Lucky are those who have mothers in their families. And for those who don’t have mothers to make their childhood rememberable, that emptiness remain forever in their lives.  Then comes those who have their mothers, but they don’t respect their existence. What is the point of calling yourself a human, when you can’t even respect a woman who gave you birth. They abuse her, beat her, insult her. Are you really humans? You would not be doing all this mate, if she would have decide to kill you in her womb. But she didn’t. Because she wanted you as her beloved child, she loved you.  There are people who throw their mothers out of house, after their father dies. Because they think they have to take care of their mother. Actually for their safe side, they leave them into old age homes. Well! Old age homes take good care of them, but old mothers need love of their own children.  There are ev...

MAINTAINING MORAL STANDARDS AMONG YOUTH

Image
Today's youth are tomorrow's citizens. Young ones play a prominent role in society. It is important for older ones to instill the seeds of morality and moral standards in the minds of the youth. That makes the child a perfect citizen at the end. Today there is a lot of lack of moral standards among people, especially in the youth. This may be because of lack of proper teaching and training of morality by their parents. Though it may seem that there is nothing to worry about, it may seriously affect the future of the younger generation. Moral standards must be the base for the lives of the youth in general. These standards carve a perfect human being. Moral standards make the young ones to have a clear sense of right and wrong. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Sometimes children are distracted with different perspectives of morality from their society, friends, school, entertainment..etc. All these can influence their personal moral agenda. So it is important to have a personal moral agen...
