Child labour and child trafficking

 

Child labour and trafficking generally refers to abuse (mental, physical, sexual) on children. Child abuse and trafficking is an important concern in our country. Because children in India are considered as messengers of God. And people here are using them for money and other purposes. 

Types of Child labour and trafficking

1. Forced labour :- Children who are below the age of 14 are used for labour in factories, shops etc. And sometimes children are used for domestic labour. People give them money and ask them to do all the household chores. Those little hands do all the chores without any complaints, and if they complaints they are sometimes beaten or locked in a room. 

2. Sexual assault :- Children are kidnapped and then they are supplied to a trafficker, who wanted those children for different purposes. Some traffickers want those children for the sexual purpose. Under aged girls are rented for sexual intercourse. Who don’t even know what is happening to them. Their life turns into hell in no time. 

3. Child begging :- Children are trafficked for begging purposes. Their limbs are cut during the process so that people would give them sympathy and money. Forced child begging is a type of begging in which boys and girls under the age of eighteen are forced to beg through psychological and physical coercion. 

4. Drug trades :- Children are also used in drug trades in all regions of the world. Specifically, children are often trafficked into exploitation as either drug couriers or dealers, and then 'paid' in drugs, such that they become addicted and further entrapped. Due to the illicit nature of drug trafficking, children who are apprehended are often treated as criminals, when in reality they are often the ones in need of legal assistance. 

Effects on children 

Child labour and trafficking puts a really bad effect on children. It creates  allot only physical but also mental problems for them. They suffer from anxiety, depression, malnutrition, hypertension etc. Children who are kidnapped and trafficking their parents also suffer a lot in these situations. There can be a lot of situations for child labour and trafficking which forced children into that hell. Children who are in their teenage suffer a lot because it’s a age where our mind and body are developing and going through many changes. But if this age is destroyed, then their whole life may effect.
