People suffering in Afghanistan
As the Taliban gained full control over Afghanistan, the situation there is quite critical. Despite their claims about how modern they would be in their rule it actually seems like a living hell kind of situation there.
More than 1000 civilians have been killed as a result of the ongoing conflict. Children have been killed and injured in roadside bombs and in the crossfire. Women face an uncertain future. 'Modern Taliban' is really an oxymoron. There are fears over women's freedom to work, to dress as they choose, or even to leave home alone under Taliban rule. People working in embassies have been evacuated by their respective countries.
The country may also become a training ground for terrorism with the involvement of Al-Qaida.
