WORLD BLOOD DONATION DAY

Karl Landsteiner’s birth anniversary has been celebrated as World Blood Donation Day on June 14th which was first initiated in the year 2004 by the World Health Organization (WHO). 

Countries across the globe take part in the awareness campaign to talk about the importance of blood donation as it is an important awareness day. Blood donation drives are available in schools, institutions, and workplaces.  

This day is also a thank you to all the blood donors who contribute to save life because there is no end to donating blood and the nation always requires it. This   day provides an opportunity for governments, health authorities and citizens to spread awareness about the need to strengthen the blood donation network.
