Water Crisis

Increasing water crisis is one of the biggest ecological problems of Earth. Around one-quarter of people all over the globe are facing water crisis. The primary reason for the scarcity of water is the fast-growing population but the amount of water remaining the same. Water use has grown at more than twice the rate of the human population over the last century due to industries, such as agriculture, which account for 70 per cent of global freshwater use. The depleting quality of water for human consumption has even worsened the situation. No doubt, earth is the only planet having excessive water on it, the fresh water available here is negligible. The water crisis can be reduced by judiciously utilizing the water resources and adopting methods to save water. Also, we need to improve water efficiency in the agricultural and industrial sector. Comprehensive approach from all sectors is the only way out to combat the prevailing water crisis. Therefore, every person should efficiently use the water resources so as to fulfil the vision of sustainable development.
