Unemployment is a term used for being without work which generally provides an individual with money. Indian Youth has been prey of unemployment, and the situation is worsening day by day. Unemployment is one the main reasons which makes India an underdevelopment still after ages of Independence. Not only youth but middle aged person are also sometimes unemployed which creates problems not only for them but their whole family. 

There are many types of unemployment in India, some are :- 

- Open unemployment 

- Disguised unemployment

- Seasonal unemployment

- Structural unemployment 

 Some of the general types are 

- Educational unemployment 

- Technological unemployment

- Casual unemployment

- Cyclical unemployment

- Chronic unemployment

- Frictional unemployment

Let’s look at some of the reasons of Unemployment 

1. Increase in population 

2. Joint family system 

3. Lack of proper education system 

4. Illiteracy 

5. Caste system 

6. Increasing poverty 

7. Less growth in Industrial areas 

How can Unemployment impact a country and individuals? 

• It can make a country penniless :- When the youth of the country won’t get the jobs, how are they supposed to earn and how will the economic cycle grow? Economic condition of such country may deteriorate and thus such country be penniless in no time. 

• It can create a great imbalance in an individual’s mental life :- When a person have no work to do, it is obvious that he might lose his mind and go crazy. He have the potential but he can’t use it anywhere, what is he supposed to do now? So, unemployment can create a lot of impact on an individual’s mental health.

• Can create family chaos :- It is said that the one who can’t earn is considered worthless in our society, which is quite inappropriate. If one person is unemployed society and even family members considers that person as null, which can severely damage his mental wellbeing. And this situation is gender neutral. Nowadays even girls face such situations. 

• Increase in crimes :- Unemployment can lead to exhaustion and that exhaustion sometimes leads a person to attempt such henious actions which he shouldn’t have done. These actions then slowly turns into crimes. Which impacts whole life of an individual. 

• It can destroy the whole economic cycle of the country :- Economics is all related to wealth and welfare, and unemployment snatches both from a country. This situation worsens when there are 10000+ of individuals who are unemployed. 


Conclusion :- Government have taken a lot of steps and have introduced many schemes to eradicate unemployment and to provide jobs to the youth of country. And there is hope for a new India which is best in it’s economic sector.
