Cleaning and sanitizing highly-touched surfaces in your home on a routine basis is an effective measure to reduce the possibility of contamination.
Each home is different, but common highly-touched surfaces include:
Ødoor handles ØBathroom surfaces ØComputers
ØTablets
ØKeyboards
ØRemote controls ØLight switches ØHandrails
ØFavorite toys ØMobile phones Øtables
Ø Scrub
it with soap or detergent and water first. Then use a disinfectant that
includes alcohol (about 70%) or bleach.
Ø In many areas, it can be challenging to find
disinfectant sprays and wipes. In those situations, keep washing your floor
with soap and water. Dilute household bleach solutions can also be used on
certain surfaces.
ü Certain
clothing pieces have plastic and metal components that could survive for a few
hours or several days. So we should be very careful during washing our
clothes.
Cooking
Measures:
ü Use different cutting boards and clean uncooked meat and fish. Cook food at the
correct temperature. Keep perishable foods refrigerated, if necessary, and pay attention to the product's expiry dates.
ü Always
use a clean set of utensils and plates.
Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If
using a hand sanitizer, remember that, it should include at least 60% alcohol,
cover all areas of your hands, and rub your hands together for 20-30 seconds until
your hands are dry.
