Is it possible to acquire coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from food? How should I do laundry now?

These are some questions that pop up in our heads every day.

As a parent, you want to do whatever you can to protect your kids. The Coronavirus Disease pandemic has created fresh problems for families across the globe.

Do you know? Cold-water and warm-water are similarly successful in removing germs and viruses — as long as you use soap to wash your hands properly!

KEY TIPS

Wash, wash and wash your hands                                           Hold at least 1 meter away from people

Here are some more suggestions to be hygiene and healthy!

Cleaning and sanitizing highly-touched surfaces in your home on a routine basis is an effective measure to reduce the possibility of contamination.

Each home is different, but common highly-touched surfaces include:

        Ødoor handles                                   Ã˜Bathroom surfaces                           Ã˜Computers

ØTablets                                             Ã˜Taps                                                     Ã˜Chairs

ØKeyboards                                       Ã˜Toilets                                                  Ã˜Kitchen

ØRemote controls                            ØLight switches                                     Ã˜Handrails

ØFavorite toys                                   Ã˜Mobile phones                                    Øtables

    If the floor is dusty:

Ø    Scrub it with soap or detergent and water first. Then use a disinfectant that includes alcohol (about   70%) or bleach.

Ø    In many areas, it can be challenging to find disinfectant sprays and wipes. In those situations, keep washing your floor with soap and water. Dilute household bleach solutions can also be used on certain surfaces.

   Cleaning of clothing:

ü     Certain clothing pieces have plastic and metal components that could survive for a few hours or several days. So we should be very careful during washing our clothes.

  Cooking Measures:

ü     Use different cutting boards and clean uncooked meat and fish. Cook food at the correct temperature. Keep perishable foods refrigerated, if necessary, and pay attention to the product's expiry dates.

ü     Always use a clean set of utensils and plates.

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

If using a hand sanitizer, remember that, it should include at least 60% alcohol, cover all areas of your hands, and rub your hands together for 20-30 seconds until your hands are dry.
